The expanded list includes a wide array of sought-after travel spots located in Southeast Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean. In an effort to attract more visitors from India, these destinations have made it simpler for Indian tourists to access famous monuments, untouched shorelines, and cultural landmarks. Consequently, Indian passport holders now have the privilege of visa-free entry to 62 countries, maintaining its position at 80th in the Henley Passport Index rankings. Despite India’s stationary ranking compared to last year, the increase from the previous tally of 57 visa-free countries marks a significant enhancement.

The Henley Passport Index, renowned as the leading interactive tool online for evaluating and comparing the global standing of passports, bases its rankings on information from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). It acts as a gauge for worldwide travel freedom, illustrating the extent of diplomatic relationships and the ease of access that passports afford on a global scale.

This year, the nations boasting the most influential passports include France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain, whose citizens can enjoy visiting 194 countries without the need for a visa. On the other end of the spectrum, Afghanistan sits at the lowest rung, with its passport allowing visa-free travel to merely 28 countries. Close behind are Syria and Iraq, with access to 29 and 31 countries respectively, while Pakistan’s passport provides entry to 34 destinations.

The extension in visa-free access for Indian passport holders enriches their opportunities for cultural exchanges and exploring a vast array of international locales.
