Governor of West Virginia speaks to students regarding tourism jobs

The Governor of West Virginia Jim Justice spoke to students concerningscopes of career in the state’s rising tourism sectorwhile visiting the Nicholas County Career and Technical Center.


The occasionis the commencement of hospitality and tourism training programs throughout the state, which are being developed as a part of newpersonnelimprovementinventiveness, i.e. Tourism Works. This program was initiatedduring the early part of this year by the Department of Tourism to get ready for thepredictabledevelopment of more than 21,000 yearly job possibilities in WV’s tourism businesstill 2025.


Governor Justice said that they are going to begin teaching and instructing theirstudents, so that they are all set for the jobs that would be coming their way, and this only the tip of the iceberg.


He said that tourism haskick-startedlike never before. It is possible to go from 21,000 to 210,000 job possibilitieswithin a very short period of time. West Virginia holds a special place in this world.


The Governor told the students that these are well paying occupations. Of the estimated 21,000 yearly openings, 10,000 are thought to be management-level jobs with remunerations of around $60,000, as per statistics from the Higher Education Policy Commission.
