Very soon, the tourism season is about to kick-start; therefore, everybody starting right from the officials of the visitor center to businesses is preparing to manage a huge rush of visitors that always boosts the state and local economies always.

The benefits of tourism, in recent times, to the state have characteristically contributed between $4.5 billion and $5 billion. For this, thanks go to the traveler spending power.

With this amount of money being generated every year, it’s quite comprehensible why municipalities and businesses are aiming on being all set to welcome the huge visitor surge confidently.

Job postings are one of the first signs of a soon-approaching season of tourism. Businesses all over the state will take in their seasonal workforce for everything, starting right from lifeguards to housekeepers to raft guides.

The executive director of the New River Gorge Convention, Becky Sullivan, said that their office operates as a CVB for, Fayette County, the New River Gorge and the Chamber of Commerce. On April 13th, the Chamber of Commerce hosted a job fair where they have invited employers to sign up as well as create a table to converse with the potential employees.

The maximum number of companies related to rafting is starting to take on new employees. Majority of them are seasonal positions like housekeepers, bus drivers, kitchen staff, guides and others.
