Grand Geneva resort & spa appoints Jonathan Gutierrez as executive chef

The AAA Four Diamond Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, a property under Marcus® Hotels & Resorts, proudly introduces Jonathan Gutiérrez as its new executive chef.

Gutiérrez, with a culinary journey spanning over a decade, is renowned for his imaginative flair, commitment to locally sourced ingredients, and a steadfast pursuit of culinary excellence. His culinary creations, influenced by a spectrum ranging from pop culture to the allure of natural surroundings, have garnered national acclaim and a substantial social media following.

Hailing from Aguascalientes, Mexico, Gutiérrez’s culinary roots trace back to his childhood, where he found inspiration and honed his skills through his mother’s dishes and techniques. His passion for crafting inventive dishes took him to various dining establishments across the United States, including an early career stint as a cultural representative and culinary intern at Walt Disney World.

Before joining Grand Geneva, Gutiérrez contributed his culinary expertise to distinguished restaurants and resorts such as La Quinta Resort & Club, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, where he served as the banquet chef. Most recently, he held the position of executive chef at Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa.

In his new role overseeing culinary operations and menus at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, Gutiérrez will supervise a diverse array of dining experiences, spanning acclaimed restaurants, cafes, banquets, and special events. Emphasizing the resort’s exceptional culinary programs, he aims to curate menus that showcase the flavors of local Wisconsin, utilizing seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques. His muse will be the resort’s expansive 1,300-acre campus and the natural beauty that envelops it.
