Grand opening of ITB Berlin 2024 will be on March 4

The highly anticipated ITB Berlin 2024, recognized as the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show, is set to commence with an official opening press conference and a grand opening ceremony on the 4th of March, heralding a new chapter in the global travel and tourism industry.

This year, the Sultanate of Oman, under the leadership of H.E. Salim bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage & Tourism, takes the helm as the delegation head, promising to showcase the country’s rich tapestry of culture, tradition, and sustainable tourism initiatives.

Scheduled for 10 a.m. at the CityCube Berlin, the official opening press conference will feature His Excellency Azzan bin Qassim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, unveiling Oman’s vision for the future and its strategic plans for sustainable tourism development under the “Vision 2024” initiative.

The opening ceremony, set to commence at 6 p.m. at the same venue, promises an immersive experience into the Sultanate’s beauty and heritage, aptly themed “Beauty has an address.” The ceremony will feature performances by Omani singers, folklore bands, and the esteemed Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra, offering attendees a glimpse into Oman’s vibrant culture and traditions.

Further enriching the evening, a reception event at 8 p.m. will introduce guests to the culinary delights of Oman, enhancing the cultural exchange and fostering a deeper understanding of the Sultanate’s heritage.

ITB Berlin 2024, running from the 5th to the 7th of March, continues its legacy since 1966 as a pivotal platform for the travel industry, facilitating discussions, networking, and the exchange of ideas among professionals.

The concurrent ITB Berlin Convention, a cornerstone event featuring leading speakers from various sectors including business, science, and politics, will delve into the industry’s pressing issues and emerging trends. Themed “Pioneer the Transition in Travel & Tourism. Together.,” the convention is set to inspire and challenge over 24,000 attendees across 4 stages and 17 themed tracks, highlighting the collective journey towards a resilient and sustainable future in travel and tourism.
