The announcement made by Chu Anh Hung, the Vice Director in March, introduced ‘Music Garden’ at the Hanoi Opera House as a novel cultural tourism product. This innovative initiative is set to merge musical performances with the architectural splendor of the venue, offering an experience under the stars. Aimed at providing an engaging outdoor setting, this initiative allows visitors to enjoy a variety of musical performances. The goal extends beyond entertainment, aspiring to facilitate cultural exchanges through music from different countries, in partnership with their embassies in Hanoi.

The ‘Music Garden’ is designed to cater to a wide range of musical tastes, from traditional instrumental to classical music, including performances by both domestic and international artists. With operations planned from 9 am to 6 pm for daytime events and 7:30 pm to 10 pm for evening concerts, the initiative makes cultural immersion accessible, with ticket prices ranging from 69,000 to 99,000 VND (approximately 2.08 to 4 USD), including a beverage.

In an effort to enrich the ‘Music Garden’ experience further, the Hanoi Opera House is set to collaborate with tour operators. This partnership aims to craft tours that not only offer musical enjoyment but also explore the historic architecture of the theatre. This strategy is expected to enhance the tourist experience in Hanoi and elevate the Opera House’s status as a key cultural landmark.

Built in the early 20th century by the French colonial government, the Hanoi Opera House is a symbol of Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage and architectural finesse. Drawing inspiration from Paris’s Palais Garnier, this structure has been a pivotal element of Hanoi’s cultural scene since its completion in 1911. With the introduction of the ‘Music Garden’, the Opera House reinforces its commitment to cultural enrichment for both the city’s residents and its visitors.

As the evening descends on the Hanoi Opera House, the ‘Music Garden’ is poised to become a hub of cultural exchange and enjoyment. This initiative not only highlights the Opera House’s dedication to promoting cultural diversity and accessibility but also cements Hanoi’s position as an essential destination for cultural aficionados worldwide.

The synergy of music, architecture, and international collaboration at the ‘Music Garden’ ushers in a new era in the Opera House’s illustrious history, inviting everyone to share in its cultural offerings beneath the night sky. This endeavor is anticipated to significantly boost tourism in Hanoi, inviting visitors from around the globe to experience its vibrant cultural scene.
