The Hillsborough County Commission felicitated the state winner Sickles High School baseball squad at the beginning of its conference. After an hour, Ken Hagan, the County Commission chairperson went to bat for increasing baseball along with other sports tourism contributions in Hillsborough County.
Hagan’s adolescent daughter is also into travel softball. He said that unprofessional sports amenities produce hotel stays, expenditure on food and amusement and sales levy assistances to local administrations.
He said that he knows that this is the circumstance. Having joined an average of 15 to 20 contests every
year, he can feel it in the wallet.
Hagan’s remarks came as consultants furnished separate reports on the viability of constructing a
178,000-square-foot indoor sports gym or an 11-field baseball or softball complex in a land of 70 acres.
Initial price estimations put the joint value of the amenities at $123 million.
