On January 2, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur flagged off the famous winter carnival in Manali. A week-long winter carnival aims boost the state’s tourism sector. Despite extreme cold weather, artists from many parts of India will take part in the event. The carnival will go on till January 06.
The festival was not held in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid crisis.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the cultural programme at Manu Rangshala. He said that various spots would be developed as tourist places for tourism promotion. The rock climbing wall in Manali would strengthen adventure tourism activities while the Beas Bihal Nature Park would provide clean and beautiful natural environment for tourists, besides creating employment for locals.
