American Revolution cruises

Embark on a historic journey as American Cruise Lines announces exclusive 2024 American Revolution cruises from Washington, D.C.

American Cruise Lines is excited to announce a unique offering for this year – their exclusive American Revolution cruises, which explore the Chesapeake Bay, Potomac River, and the York River, will now operate roundtrip from Washington, D.C. In 2018, the American Constitution, one of the company’s smaller vessels, made history by becoming the first ship to dock in D.C. in over six decades. Throughout 2024, the American Revolution cruises will continue their roundtrip journeys from D.C., making them the world’s only cruises that navigate the Potomac River, bringing passengers right into the heart of the nation’s capital, just steps away from the country’s most iconic historical monuments.

The 2024 cruises will set sail from The Wharf, located in one of D.C.’s liveliest waterfront communities in the southeast. The American Revolution itinerary is an exploration of the Chesapeake Bay, calling at the region’s most renowned ports of call, including Yorktown, Mount Vernon, Annapolis, and D.C. Passengers will be transported to charming towns and historic cities that have played a significant role in shaping the nation’s history and continue to captivate visitors today.

“We are thrilled to offer our American Revolution cruises roundtrip from D.C. this year. In 2024, American Cruise Lines will operate the American Revolution cruises during both the spring and fall seasons. Early spring departures offer the added delight of experiencing the stunning Cherry Blossom season along the Chesapeake, with the first cruise of the season commencing on March 26, 2024. All cruises will feature carefully curated entertainment and enrichment activities on board, along with regionally inspired cuisine showcasing Maryland’s renowned Blue Crabs. Both on board and onshore, the itinerary will provide insights into the area’s historical significance and natural beauty. Highlights include visits to the cities of the “Historic Triangle,” such as Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown, as well as guided tours of Washington, D.C., covering iconic spots like the Capitol’s Crypt, Rotunda, Statuary Hall, and the renowned Smithsonian museums. Passengers can also explore Mount Vernon, Arlington National Cemetery, the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad exhibit, and even take an authentic “Skipjack” sail through the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, among other exciting activities.

The 2024 American Revolution cruises will be hosted on two vessels, the 170-passenger American Constitution and the 100-passenger American Glory, which is one of the Line’s brand-new Coastal Cats. These 11-day, 10-night cruises, departing from and returning to Washington, D.C., will include stops at Annapolis, MD; St. Michaels, MD; Cambridge, MD; Norfolk, VA; Williamsburg/Yorktown, VA; and Mount Vernon, VA. Additionally, passengers will have the opportunity to explore Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown Settlement, Historic Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Arlington, and Old Town Alexandria.

For selected dates in Spring 2024, passengers can enjoy savings of up to $1500 and complimentary airfare. American Revolution cruises also offer options for pre-cruise hotel stays at the Four Seasons, D.C., as well as packages that include a visit to the Smithsonian’s new Entertainment Nation exhibit, where they can view Judy Garland’s famous Ruby Slippers from “The Wizard of Oz,” proudly presented by American Cruise Lines.
