Holland America Line is set to enhance its renowned Alaska Cruisetours for the 2024 season, introducing room upgrades at the McKinley Chalet Resort and a novel tour in Dawson City, Yukon. These Cruisetours uniquely blend an Alaskan cruise with a land tour to Denali, offering an exclusive extension into the Yukon by Holland America Line. The McKinley Chalet Resort, located at Denali National Park, will see 28 of its river-view rooms outfitted with balconies, elevating them to Denali Suite status. Moreover, a new Deluxe room category is being launched, offering non-balcony rooms with suite-level amenities. Guests on selected Denali and Yukon Cruisetours will also enjoy the newly included “Klondike Gold Tour,” which delves into the region’s storied gold rush history, featuring visits to the site of the initial gold discovery and Gold Dredge 4.
Dan Rough, the Vice President of Revenue Management at Holland America Line, highlighted the ongoing evolution of their Alaska Cruisetour offerings, aimed at enriching the guest experience and deepening the understanding of the destination. The addition of balcony suites at the McKinley Chalet Resort is designed to provide guests with breathtaking views, while the new Deluxe category ensures a more luxurious stay.
The McKinley Chalet Resort will now boast 84 Denali Suites, thanks to the addition of balconies to river-view rooms, alongside the upgrade of 45 rooms to the new Deluxe category, complete with suite amenities like s’more kits for Denali Square enjoyment, Pendleton blankets, premium bathrobes, and a Keurig coffee machine. The Cruisetour package includes standard rooms, but guests have the option to upgrade to Deluxe or Suite accommodations for an additional fee.
The Klondike Gold Tour, offered in Dawson City, invites guests on a journey to the Discovery Claim National Historic Site and Gold Dredge 4, with insights from a Parks Canada guide on the gold dredging history and the gold rush’s inception in the Yukon.
This initiative underscores Holland America Line’s commitment to offering comprehensive insights into the Klondike Gold Rush, from Skagway to the Yukon, enhancing the cultural and historical understanding for their guests. Additional excursions in Skagway further explore the gold rush era, providing a rich, immersive experience.
The 2024 Yukon and Denali Cruisetours present a unique combination of an Alaska cruise with a land tour to Denali and the Yukon, ranging from nine to 18 days and featuring stays in Dawson City to fully engage with the gold rush narrative.
