Hong Kong welcomes Xia Baolong: First stop – HK international airport

Xia Baolong, Director of the PC Central Committee Hong Kong & Macao Work Office and Director of the State Council Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office, arrived in Hong Kong today for a visit to the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). Joining him were John Lee, the Chief Executive, and Chan Kwok-ki, the Chief Secretary for Administration. At the Integrated Airport Centre, Jack So, Chairman of the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK), and Fred Lam, CEO of AAHK, provided Mr. Xia with an overview of HKIA’s development. During the visit, the operational demonstration of autonomous vehicles on the airport apron showcased technological advancements in airport management.

This visit underscores the importance of HKIA as a key transportation hub and reflects ongoing efforts to enhance its infrastructure and operations. By engaging in discussions and witnessing demonstrations firsthand, Mr. Xia and the accompanying officials reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the continued growth and efficiency of Hong Kong’s international airport.
