Helsinki Airport continues to hold a prestigious spot among the world’s airports, recognized for its excellence and high regard in global rankings. In 2023, it facilitated travel for approximately 15.3 million passengers, with around 25% being business travelers.

Other airports highly esteemed by business travelers include Vietnam’s Noi Bai International Airport, Singapore’s Changi Airport, China’s Hong Kong International Airport, and Qatar’s Hamad International Airport, rounding out the top five.

These rankings were based on surveys conducted by Skytrax, a leading international air passenger opinion research firm. The findings, highlighting the top airports as per business travelers, were disclosed by BusinessFinancing.co.uk towards February’s end.

“We want to provide all of our passengers with a smooth customer experience. We work every day to improve the customer experience and actively survey the needs of business travellers to make their experience at the airport as smooth as possible. According to surveys, business travellers appreciate the renovated terminal and the efficient check-in and security control processes. In addition, the smooth passage through the gate area and the professionalism of our staff are something that business travellers appreciate,” says Ulla Serlenius, Helsinki Airport Executive Director at Finavia.

Helsinki Airport caters to the specific needs of business travelers through various services. In the departures area, airlines provide exclusive priority services, including a special check-in counter for business travelers, access to a fast-track security line, and entry to an airport lounge.

For those arriving, the airport features a hotel within the arrivals hall, offering ten spaces designed for work and relaxation. Additionally, the gate area houses three serene working spaces available for reservation.

The airport boasts five well-liked lounges, with plans to renovate three of them in the summer of 2024.

“We want to provide opportunities for our passengers to refresh themselves and work during their journey. Helsinki Airport’s lounge facilities will expand in the summer, and two completely new concepts will be added to the offering.”

Furthermore, Finavia offers Premium parking, situated in a prime spot on the terminal’s ground floor. This parking area includes direct elevator access to the departures hall and features around a hundred charging stations for electric vehicles. It also offers additional amenities such as a car wash and services for tyre replacement and storage.

The comprehensive Helsinki Airport Development Programme, initiated by Finavia, has revamped the airport’s departures and arrivals areas, parking, terminal infrastructure, and facilities, concluding in the fall of 2023. This transformation has significantly enhanced passenger experience, as evidenced by Helsinki Airport’s accolades as the best airport in Northern Europe for the years 2018, 2020, and 2022, and the top airport in Europe within its size category for 2018, 2019, and 2022.
