The Direct Data Solutions (DDS) partnership between the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) has been extended, providing subscribing airlines with an extensive global dataset encompassing sales, market, and itinerary information.

The extension of this partnership, announced at the 2023 IATA World Passenger Symposium, ensures that over 100 global airlines will maintain access to this crucial service for an extended period. DDS consolidates data contributed by airlines, IATA’s Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) transactions, and ARC’s Area Settlement Plan (ASP) transactions into a unified data source, facilitating essential analytics and decisions for airlines.

Launched collaboratively in 2012 by IATA and ARC, DDS stands as the world’s largest and most comprehensive global airline ticket dataset, comprising over 15 billion passenger flights from 490 airlines across 230 countries and territories.

Willie Walsh, IATA’s Director General, emphasized the significance of DDS as a vital business intelligence tool, offering airline customers accessible insights for benchmarking their performance against other participating airlines. He highlighted DDS’s substantial contribution to establishing IATA as a trusted industry data source for areas such as traffic, safety, operations, and sustainability.

Lauri Reishus, ARC President and CEO, stated that DDS serves as the foundation of ARC’s data platform, representing the most trusted source of global airline ticketing data. With the partnership extension, ARC and IATA plan to expand the scope of DDS and introduce new data solutions to further advance the global airline industry.
