Iberia Airlines expands payment options, welcomes UnionPay as a new accepted method

Iberia has introduced a new payment alternative for its airline customers, now accepting UnionPay, a widely popular global payment method.

Travelers can seamlessly book and complete their flight transactions using their UnionPay card on both www.iberia.com and the Iberia app. This newly incorporated payment option, available to all UnionPay holders, joins Iberia’s existing array of payment methods, which include credit and debit cards, PayPal, Bizum, and bank transfers. This enhancement aims to enhance the security and efficiency of online transactions for Iberia’s customers.

UnionPay cards, boasting acceptance in 181 countries and billions of issued cards worldwide, stand as the forefront leader in card payments. Notably, UnionPay is the preferred payment method in the Chinese and Asian markets.

UnionPay International spearheads the global expansion of UnionPay, the world’s largest cardholder network in the payment sector. Collaborating with 2,500 entities globally, it boasts acceptance at over 70 million establishments across 181 countries. Beyond China, UnionPay cards are welcomed at more than 38 million merchants and 1.76 million ATMs, solidifying its status as a dominant force in international payments.
