This morning at FITUR, Iberia unveiled the latest toiletry bags, a creation of designer Teresa Helbig, drawing inspiration from her designs for Iberia’s airline uniforms. These stylish bags will soon be available in Business and Premium Economy classes on long-haul flights, starting this summer. The design features a harmonious blend of blue, red, and yellow.
Crafted with sustainability in mind, these toiletry bags showcase a range of new natural and vegan cosmetic products. Produced in Spain by Uvas Frescas, these products utilize surplus grapes sourced from the wines carefully curated by the Wine Club (Araex) and served onboard Iberia flights. The packaging itself is made from sugar cane, boasting I’m Green TM certification.
Kaelis, in collaboration with Iberia, contributed to the environmental aspect by recycling 7.5 million 550ml plastic bottles. This initiative not only saved an impressive 1.2 million liters of water but also led to a remarkable 70% reduction in energy emissions.
Adding a touch of inclusivity, the production of these sustainable products involved over 400 workers from Envera, an organization dedicated to employing individuals with disabilities. The unveiling ceremony at FITUR featured Paula Gutiérrez from Kaelis, Jorge Rico Alerany from Envera, and Javier R. de Galarreta from Araex. They were joined by Gabriel Perdiguero, Iberia’s Director of Customers, Transformation, and Systems.
The Business Class toiletry bag comes complete with cosmetics, night socks, an eye mask, a toothbrush and toothpaste, earplugs, lip balm, and hand cream. Premium Economy customers will receive a bag containing socks, a mask, a toothbrush and toothpaste, and earplugs. Customers have the flexibility to request the full kit or individual products, and any unused items will be recycled for future use.
