Iconic Dusit Thani Bangkok hotel to reopen in September

Dusit Hotels and Resorts, the hotel division of Dusit International, a prominent Thai hotel and real estate development company, has unveiled plans to reopen the iconic Dusit Thani Bangkok hotel in September 2024.

Positioned in the same prime location as its predecessor, which adorned the Bangkok skyline from 1970 to 2019, this eagerly anticipated revival of Dusit’s flagship luxury hotel pledges to offer a contemporary interpretation of its esteemed legacy, once again symbolizing Thai-inspired hospitality excellence for global travelers.

To cater to the expectations of modern guests, the revamped Dusit Thani Bangkok hotel has been meticulously redesigned to provide a lavish accommodation experience, enhancing the already lofty standards set by the original establishment. With a reduced room count (257 compared to the original’s 517), the newly constructed 39-story hotel ensures ample space for guests, featuring deluxe rooms and refined suites meticulously crafted by the internationally acclaimed Asian interior design firm, André Fu Studio, starting at an impressive 50 square meters.

Envisioned by Architects 49 International Limited and OMA Asia Hong Kong Limited, a branch of the esteemed Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), renowned for its innovative contributions to architecture and urban design, the hotel’s distinctive architecture and well-considered layout further amplify the sense of space. A unique corridor layout ensures every room overlooks the verdant expanse of Lumpini Park, providing guests with uninterrupted scenic views through expansive floor-to-ceiling windows. This distinctive design element, complemented by gracefully designed window seating, seamlessly merges the serenity of nature with contemporary luxury.

Since its inception in 1970, the original Dusit Thani Bangkok boasted one of the city’s largest and most elegant ballrooms. The new iteration of the hotel upholds this tradition with expansive banqueting and meeting facilities spanning over 5,000 square meters. This encompasses one of Bangkok’s largest grand ballrooms, featuring a lofty ceiling and a panoramic vista of Lumpini Park, along with a diverse array of meeting spaces catering to intimate gatherings and large-scale events.

The hotel will soon unveil an enticing array of dining venues, including elevated culinary experiences crafted in collaboration with renowned chefs, as well as a chic multi-level rooftop bar.

Demonstrating Dusit’s dedication to holistic well-being, the hotel’s signature wellness concept, Devarana Wellness, will introduce a distinctive urban sanctuary designed to offer tailored wellness experiences for guests, visitors, and locals alike. Comprehensive details regarding the hotel’s wellness offerings and captivating culinary concepts will be disclosed closer to its reopening date.

As part of its design philosophy, the new Dusit Thani Bangkok proudly incorporates signature elements from the original property, thoughtfully preserved and integrated into the new structure. This includes the original property’s iconic golden spire, recently reinstated during the new property’s topping-off ceremony, as well as precious artworks by renowned local artists.

Situated at the core of Dusit Central Park, the new Dusit Thani Bangkok is part of a distinguished THB 46 billion mixed-use development. This endeavor includes ultra-luxury residences (Dusit Residences and Dusit Parkside), an innovative office tower, a high-end retail center, and a sprawling 11,200 square meter Roof Park.These complementary components are scheduled for gradual unveiling throughout 2025.
