In the recently published Black Pearl Restaurant Guide 2024, several IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) restaurants have once again secured prestigious awards. These accolades acknowledge the exceptional performance of the Group’s food and beverage brands and their dedicated teams, reaffirming IHG’s unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding service. With the imminent Chinese New Year signaling heightened culinary activities, IHG strategically positions itself to demonstrate expertise by seamlessly integrating food and beverage segments within its hotels.

“The Black Pearl Guide not only provides a reference for discerning guests, but also serves as an important window into the city’s culinary culture. We are thrilled that the Group’s F&B outlets have been once again included in the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide,” said Mr. Jerome Qiu, Chief Operating Officer of IHG Greater China. “In the current highly competitive food and beverage market, we have overcome many challenges and obstacles to build a unique F&B brand portfolio and garnered strong influence and appeal by leveraging IHG’s nationwide presence to boost the exquisite dining industry. We recognize that standing out in fierce competition necessitates constant innovation and a commitment to elevating quality. Moving forward, we intend to meet the dynamic needs of consumers through enhanced dining experiences, promising to deliver not only surprises but also heightened satisfaction to our guests.”

Enhancing its Culinary Brand Portfolio

IHG prioritizes local and seasonal dining, establishing a strong link between food and beverages to foster regional interactions and consumer integration across different areas. In the Chinese market, IHG consistently tailors its offerings to meet the preferences of Chinese guests, blending Chinese culinary traditions with modern dining concepts to create a diverse F&B brand portfolio.

One standout within IHG’s Food and Beverage network is the rapidly growing Chinese restaurant brand, “Cai Feng Lou.” Undergoing an upgrade to Cai Feng Lou 2.0, the brand focuses not only on innovating its dishes but also on maintaining high standards in services, ambiance, and more. The brand aims to provide guests with a comprehensive sensory experience, embodying its cultural theme of “The Colorful Phoenix Brings Auspicious.” Executive Chef Sean Xiao, with 18 years of experience in Cantonese cuisine, has played a pivotal role in the success of Cai Feng Lou at HUALUXE Xi’an Tanghua, consistently recognized by the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide.

The recently launched “Fu Lin” brand and the modern dining brand “Char” further contribute to IHG’s diverse F&B portfolio. These brands cater to different banquet scenarios and focus on perfecting details by infusing Chinese and Western elements, offering a variety of choices to the culinary industry and the Chinese gastronomic landscape.

Quality Dining Takes Center Stage with Expanded Offerings

The Meituan 2024 Fine Dining Report highlights that Chinese consumers prioritize taste and texture, service attitude, and environment and atmosphere in fine dining experiences. IHG’s uniquely positioned F&B outlets, based on detailed market segmentation, effectively meet the diverse demands of guests. Notable achievements in the 2024 Black Pearl Restaurant Guide include One Diamond awards for Shang Tao Chinese Restaurant at InterContinental Kunming and Lai Ching Heen at Regent Hong Kong, as well as Robin’s Grill and Teppanyaki at Regent Chongqing earning One Diamond for four consecutive years.

Festive Dining Tailoring to Consumer Desires

As the festive season approaches, IHG responds to consumer demand with unique and differentiated F&B offerings, crafting delightful dining experiences for New Year celebrations. A special festive dining campaign, centered around year-end parties, private gatherings, and family reunions, offers one-stop services and entertainment for guests of all ages. Cai Feng Lou unveils its 2024 Chinese New Year Celebration Menu, featuring ten master chefs creating a culinary extravaganza in ten cities. Additionally, at Lai Ching Heen, Regent Hong Kong, guests can enjoy Lunar New Year menus crafted by Executive Chef Lau You Fai and Head Chef Cheng Man Sang, aiming to create an auspicious Chinese banquet for the Chinese New Year.

IHG’s Continued Commitment to Culinary Excellence

The thriving development of the hospitality industry underscores the importance of food and beverage in travelers’ experiences. Leveraging its extensive network and rich experience, IHG remains committed to expanding its presence in the fine dining market. The goal is to offer trusted and culturally-inspired restaurants in more destinations, further promoting the connection between food and culture.
