IHG Hotels & Resorts, a prominent global hotel company, has recently engaged in a franchise agreement with Mogotel and development partner Revelop. This strategic move marks IHG’s re-entry into the Swedish market with the introduction of voco Stockholm Kista. The signing underscores IHG’s robust partnerships with owners and underscores its dedication to expanding in burgeoning markets, such as Sweden, leveraging its extensive portfolio of over 780 operational hotels throughout Europe.
voco hotels, IHG’s rapidly expanding premium hotel brand boasting over 100 properties globally, will serve as the Group’s re-entry into the Swedish hospitality landscape. Offering a premium guest experience, voco hotels seamlessly blend the charm of individualized hotels with the quality and assurance associated with a globally recognized brand. This announcement follows a series of successful signings and openings for voco hotels in various European markets, reaching nearly 40* open and signed properties in regions including France, Spain, the UK&I, Austria, Portugal, and Belgium within the first nine months of 2023.

Strategically positioned in the northern region of Stockholm, specifically in Kista, often referred to as Sweden’s Silicon Valley, voco Stockholm Kista will be located adjacent to the Nordic Forum, one of Kista’s major office redevelopments, and Ericsson’s Global Headquarters, making it an ideal choice for business travelers. The hotel will feature five personalized meeting and events spaces.
Expected to be completed in late 2024, the 201-room property will offer a restaurant and lobby bar for guests to gather, recharge, connect, work, or celebrate. Additionally, voco Stockholm Kista will house a well-equipped fitness room and a serene rooftop spa with an indoor swimming pool. The stunning rooftop garden will provide guests with exceptional views of northern Stockholm, offering a perfect setting to unwind and relax.
