The significance of legacy and ways to achieve this was highlighted at the IMEX Gala Dinner Awards that took place at the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel last night.
Part of IMEX in Frankfurt, the awards, brought together all the professionals related to the meetings and events sector across the world and celebrated their outstanding achievements. The fascinating gathering was rounded off with live music from Song Division Sound Machine.
The Paul Flackett IMEX Academy Awards, was newly named in respect to the former IMEX Managing Director, serve to identify the exceptional contribution and professional legacy of three remarkable individuals related to global meetings and incentive travel industry. This year’s roll-call celebrated:
– Alan Pini, Chief Operating Officer at Friends Interactive srl
– Anja Loetscher, Director at Geneva Convention Bureau
– Patrick Chen, Deputy Director International Tourism Promotion Dept. at Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration
The winner of the IAPCO Innovation Award has succeeded in creating an inspiring environmental legacy. The Award acclaims the most creative and high achieving young member of staff at an IAPCO member company. Amber Chen, Assistant Vice President at GIS was presented the award for her work in transforming a local neighborhood into an ecomobile community and educating children on the benefits of ecomobility.
The Destinations International Global Ambassador Award, recognizing an organization that goes beyond its local influence and shows significant leadership and commitment to the global community, was presented to Turisme de Barcelona. The award was distributed in tribute to the perseverance and strength of the organization to bring knowledge and understanding to issues and policies that impact the international tourism community.
