New York City

In 2023, the tourism industry of New York City constantly bolsters the state and city economy, producing around $74 billion in economic impact with over $48 billion coming from direct spending. This movement supported more than 380,000 hospitality and leisure sector jobs, approximately 9% of the workforce of the city and thousands of businesses that are small and minority-owned across all five boroughs. Tax revenue, which equaled to over $6 billion generated by visitor spending, saved each household of the New York City approximately $2,000 in 2023.

Presently, New York City Tourism and Conventions, convention and visitor’s bureau for the five boroughs of New York City and the official destination marketing organization, also released its ultimate 2023 prediction, with the city in 2023 enticing over 61.8 million travelers and successfully recovering 93% of the City’s record 2019 visitation levels.

Eric Adams, New York City Mayor, said that he has said it before and he’ll say it once again that New York City is back! And the tourism numbers for 2023 prove their financial retrieval than ever. The tourism industry of New York City touches every corner of the five boroughs.
