In Bangladesh, tourism awaits a solid boost from long weekends

For the tourism and hospitality sector in Bangladesh, the peak season starts in September and carries on till March. To the sector, the impending long weekend is going to offer an initial boost with operators in all the famous tourism hotspots are now coming up with different lucrative offers.


On the occasion of Eid-e-Miladunnabi, Thursday is a public holiday and Friday and Saturday are weekly holidays.

Few resorts and hotels for instance are providing discount of up to 66 percent on the World Tourism Day occasion on September 27 th to encourage tourism in all the prime hotspots like the Cox Bazar, Kuakata and other beachside cities.


Royal Tulip in Cox Bazar is one of the largest upscale hotels, and marking the occasion, it’s providing a three-night stay at the cost of just one night, around a 66 percent concession rate.


It has around 484 rooms which from September 27-29 have already been booked, confirmed the director marketing and sales, Royal Tulip, Abdul Awal.


Almost all Cox’s Bazar hotels is in country’s main tourist destination, have recently provided with attractive offers to draw the holiday-makers, said Awal.


He also explained that in the beachside city’s Kalatali intersection, there will be a three-day long tourism fair, where restaurants, hotels and resorts will take part and provide special offers.
