In India, medical tourism is a booming industry. By mid-2022, medical tourism business in India is expected to be worth $5-6 billion. If we look back, in 2017, roughly 495,056 people traveled to India for medical purposes. In India, several companies are working hard to promote Medical Tourism and Make A Health Trip is one among them. In 2019, the maximum tourists who came for medical treatment came from Southeast Asia, the Moyen East, Africa and the SAARC area, according to research by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Ernst & Young.

Also, medical tourists from Australia, Canada, China, Russia, Great Britain and the United States visit India in huge numbers. The title of Indian healthcare capital has been achieved for Chennai.

Health tourism has hopefulness. Ayurveda, Yoga, Panchakarma, Rejuvenation Therapy, and other Indian medicinal systems are some of the oldest medical treatment methods of the world. India can send international-standard medical and health services at an affordable price. Kerala has established Health Tourism as one of its products for tourism marketing. Also, health tourism has been promoted as one of the unique selling points of this southern Indian state.

The Ayurveda Centers are fast becoming an important factor for majority of hotels and resorts in Kerala. Now, majority of international visitors come to India just for Ayurvedic treatments.
