In India, tourism hiring increased

From the onset of 2023, the Travel and Tourism sector has witnessed a considerable 14% rise in terms of the demand for different job positions and a 44% rise in terms of hiring. Remarkably, professionals related to marketing communication, sales associates, and engineers have come up as the well-known contenders in this high-demand market of job. 


Also, the foundit report disclosed that Jaipur, Delhi, and Ahmedabad displayed the most outstanding yearly growth in terms of demand, standing at 34%, 34%, and 33%, respectively. 


Cheers to the positive development, augmented disposable incomes, and higher spending rate on business travel and leisure in the country, together with the infusion of evolving technologies nuances like AR/VR and AI has caused a 44% growth in the demand for talents annually for tourism in August 2023.


As tourism started getting back with a bordering 3% improvement in hiring in 2022, it has vividly revived this year as people get back their confidence in travel once again and many distinguished government efforts. Furthermore, reasonably cheap wellness industry of India has substantially boosted medical tourism.


The trends of the pre-pandemic times show that in 2019, the tourism sector went through a vigorous 16% growth. However, the COVID created significant obstacles for the industry.
