The Indian School of Hospitality (ISH) and Sommet Education, recognized authorities in hospitality education, have embarked on an innovative partnership with Accor, a leading name in the global hospitality arena. This collaboration introduces the Indian Talent Development Initiative.
This three-year pact aims to nurture the skills of Indian youth, offering them growth opportunities in the flourishing hospitality industry. This collaboration was formalized at the 19th Hotel Investment Conference in Bengaluru (HICSA 2024) and will be spearheaded by the Sommet Education Foundation, with Accor as its primary supporter.
As part of this initiative, the Sommet Education Foundation and Accor will fund the education of 16 meritorious candidates from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, allowing them to join ISH’s Intensive Culinary Arts Programme and Intensive Pastry and Bakery Programme. The program plans to enroll five or six students per session, starting in August 2024, with additional sessions in January 2025 and January 2026.

ISH is set to play a crucial role in the success of this initiative, offering top-notch training and immersive learning experiences with its advanced facilities and expert faculty. Notably, ISH’s collaboration with prestigious institutions like École Ducasse, France, and Les Roches, Switzerland, and its integration into Sommet Education’s global network, underline its commitment to fostering future leaders in hospitality.
The program promises to expedite culinary careers, including a three-month practical experience at Accor and assured employability post-completion.
Despite the Indian hospitality industry’s rapid growth, youth unemployment remains a significant challenge. This initiative is a concerted effort by the partners to stimulate sustainable growth, bridge employment gaps, and enable individuals from less privileged backgrounds to secure meaningful hospitality careers.
The launch of the Indian Talent Development Initiative reflects the collective commitment of Sommet Education, ISH, and Accor to talent development, social equality, and economic enhancement in India, paving new paths for advancement and setting higher benchmarks in the hospitality sector.
