Perth Airport

Kate Holsgrove, the Chief Commercial & Aviation Officer, Perth Airport, recently explained that in February 2024, roughly 350,387 international passengers travelled through Perth Airport. It was a 12 per cent more than the number of passengers who travelled in February 2020.

After experiencing the huge effect that the COVID-19 had on aviation sector, it’s just amazing to see that they have completely revived and are currently facing tremendous growth in global aviation.

In the past two years, they’ve worked carefully with the State Government to draw airlines to Western Australia. This milestone emphasizes the significance of the ‘Team Perth’ approach to aviation expansion.

The retrieval shows that global airlines have absolute confidence in the Western Australian market. And with their research displaying that one international direct flight on a daily basis has the possibility to provide an extra $70 million to the economy of the state and generate over 600 new job opportunities. This is the reason why they get enthusiastic when their airline partners pledge more capacity and routes into the Perth market.

More connections worldwide mean higher competition which is great for travellers as well as the tourism sector. Rising international aviation is an enormous coup for Western Australia as a tourism terminus.
