Jason-bradbury-

In an exclusive interview with Travel And Tour World, Jason Bradbury, the British television presenter expresses his ideas and opinion on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.  Artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies are revolutionizing various industries by enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and innovation. From healthcare to finance, AI-driven solutions and advancements in robotics, blockchain, and IoT are transforming traditional practices, enabling smarter decision-making, and creating new opportunities for growth and development in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Travel And Tour World: Given your extensive experience with emerging technologies, where do you see artificial intelligence (AI) making the most significant impact in the travel industry over the next decade?

Jason Bradbury: In the next ten years, AI will change the travel industry by enhancing personalisation for travellers and driving industry wide efficiency. Smart AI algorithms driven by deep data analysis with enable a speed up of things like customer booking of flights, visas and hotels, taking care of form-filling and check-in and huge improvements in automated customer service.

Travel And Tour World: How do you envision AI transforming the travel experience for consumers, from planning and booking to the actual journey and post-travel activities?

Jason Bradbury: It’s hard to predict precisely but I can see huge improvements in automated customer service that might come in the shape of AI powered personal travel agents. Across various industries customer service, which currently is expensive for the businesses and frustrating for customers, is going to be revolutionised by natural language, seemingly human ‘agents’. Post travel is less clear to me.

Travel And Tour World: What are some of the most exciting AI-driven innovations you believe will shape the future of travel, and how can they address current challenges faced by the industry?

Jason Bradbury: I’m not a travel industry professional but in general terms mixed reality will revolutionise how travel companies help customers to imagine travel experiences before they ultimately commit to booking. Currently virtual reality is still in its infancy, but the days of the smart phone are numbered and within a decade, it will be perfectly normal for half the High Street to be wearing their smart phones on their faces in the form of Virtual Reality glasses.

So, using these devices to transform your front room into an Egyptian sunset or the interior of a hotel you are considering is not so strange to imagine. Again, I’m no travel industry expert, so I’ll just pick one problematic area that AI will help to change – sustainably. The negative impact of travel on local ecosystems is well documented. AI promises significant innovation in resource management and materials science that will positively impact how travellers interact with the natural environment, less polluting fuels and energy production, plastics and waste clean-up and recycling will all benefit from machine learning and deep learning.

Travel And Tour World:  As AI continues to evolve, what ethical considerations and potential risks should the travel industry be mindful of to ensure that these technologies are used responsibly and benefit all stakeholders?

Jason Bradbury: Key concerns include data privacy and security, ensuring that traveler information is protected and not misused. Bias in AI algorithms is another significant issue – it’s crucial that these technologies offer equitable and unbiased decision-making to avoid discrimination. Transparency is the key. The industry should also consider the impact of automation on employment – although in this regard, I am quite optimistic. In terms of creating exciting, personal, travel experiences- an experienced travel agent will remain a valuable asset.
