Ireland Woos German, Swiss, and Austrian Tour Operators in Frankfurt B2B Showcase

Tourism Ireland hosted the ‘Ireland Meets Germany’ B2B workshop in Frankfurt to strengthen tourism ties, welcoming around 20 influential German, Swiss, and Austrian tour operators. This strategic event saw 29 tourism companies from Ireland meet with the operators one-on-one and network, with the goal of elevating the island of Ireland as a prime destination.

The workshop, an important initiative as we approach 2024, provided a venue for Irish businesses to highlight and promote their offerings. It enabled them to persuade tour operators to include these one-of-a-kind experiences and services in their upcoming travel programs.

The participation of these important operators pleased Nadine Lehmann, Manager Germany at Tourism Ireland. She underlined the importance of the ‘Ireland Meets Germany’ workshop, highlighting it as a great chance for Irish partners to present their goods. The ultimate aim is to grab the interest of tour operators from Germany, Switzerland, and Austria so they will include Ireland in their itineraries and help the island become a popular tourist destination in 2024 and beyond.

Germany is a major outbound travel market in the world, coming in third place among all countries of origin for visitors to the island of Ireland. The B2B workshop, with its emphasis on fortifying these connections, sought to increase tourism as well as gain a larger portion of business from these highly influential operators.

A successful first step toward a thriving tourism partnership between Ireland and these important European markets is the collaboration at the “Ireland Meets Germany” workshop, as Ireland greets Frankfurt with a warm “Guten Tag.”
