ITA Airways boosts Tokyo-Rome flights due to demand, offering 7 weekly services & expanding global routes for 2024.

ITA Airways is stepping up its services in response to high demand, increasing its direct flights between Tokyo Haneda and Rome Fiumicino. This initiative will see the addition of two weekly flights to the route, raising the total to seven direct flights per week that connect the capitals of Japan and Italy. This expansion is a reflection of the strong performance and customer demand observed since the route’s inauguration at the end of 2022.

The company’s augmentation of flights to Tokyo is part of its broader strategy to cater to both business and leisure travelers, ensuring a daily connection that reinforces Japan’s significance in its network. The flight schedule for the summer will facilitate a daily departure from Tokyo at 12:25 am, arriving in Rome at 8:10 pm local time. Conversely, flights will depart from Rome at 2:55 pm, reaching Tokyo the following morning at 10:25 am, providing convenient options for travelers.

In its ongoing efforts to expand global reach, ITA Airways is introducing new routes to North America, Africa, and the Middle East throughout the year from its Rome Fiumicino hub. This includes the commencement of a direct flight to Chicago in April, followed by launches to Toronto and Riyadh in May. Subsequent months will see the addition of flights to Accra and Kuwait City in June, Dakar in July, and Jeddah in August, marking a significant expansion in ITA Airways’ international offerings.

By the summer of 2024, ITA Airways aims to operate 57 destinations across its network, including 16 domestic, 26 international, and 15 intercontinental routes. Additionally, the airline will introduce 10 seasonal routes during the summer peak to cater to the high demand for travel to Mediterranean destinations. This includes direct flights from Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate to popular locations in Greece, Spain, Croatia, and the Italian islands.

The airline’s expansion not only includes new destinations but also builds on its existing long-haul services to cities like New York, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, Washington, San Francisco, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Tokyo, and New Delhi, reinforcing its position as a key player in international travel.

Launched on October 15, 2021, with a fleet of 52 aircraft, ITA Airways has placed a strong emphasis on embodying the Italian heritage through its services. This includes exclusive partnerships with celebrated Italian brands for crew uniforms, aircraft interior designs, and a gourmet culinary selection, aiming to provide passengers with an authentic Italian experience. Furthermore, the airline is committed to sustainability, focusing on renewing its fleet with technologically advanced and efficient aircraft. Currently, ITA Airways operates 83 Airbus planes, including 40 of the latest generation, highlighting its commitment to modern and sustainable aviation practices.
