Jackson Hole Kicks Off Its 60th Season with Unmatched Thrills and Celebrations

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, widely recognized as one of the premier ski destinations in North America, has officially launched its 60th ski season. This monumental milestone marks a season filled with exhilarating activities, top-tier slopes, and exciting events that will keep visitors coming back for more. The season is set to run until April 12, 2026, with plenty of snow, adventures, and fun in store for all types of skiers.

On its opening day, Jackson Hole welcomed guests with an impressive snow forecast: a predicted 1.65 meters of snow at the summit (3185 meters) and 86 cm at the base (1924 meters). While just three ski lifts were operational on opening day, the resort is expected to gradually open additional areas, depending on weather conditions. The ski terrain spans an impressive 10 square kilometers, with 14 lifts servicing 131 ski runs—half of which are designated for advanced skiers. Skiers of all abilities can enjoy the resort’s stunning terrain, from beginner slopes to challenging, expert-level runs.

Jackson Hole is famous for its extensive network of slopes, which are designed to cater to skiers of all levels. The terrain is connected by gondolas that link Teewinot, Après Vous, and Mid-Station mountains. These lifts offer guests access to a variety of beginner and intermediate trails, ensuring that everyone from first-timers to seasoned pros has something to enjoy. Although some areas were closed at the start of the season, visitors are urged to respect designated rest zones and Family Zones for speed control in lower mountain areas. This ensures safety for all guests and guarantees a smooth experience as the season progresses.

Among the resort’s notable features is its commitment to creating an inclusive atmosphere for skiers of all ages. A highlight of the 60th anniversary season will be the Kids on Snow event, scheduled for December 12-14, 2025. This annual event offers children up to 12 years old the chance to ski for free throughout the weekend, regardless of their skill level. The event is designed to introduce younger generations to the joys of skiing and snowboarding in a safe and fun environment.

Additionally, Jackson Hole will host Winterfest from December 19 to 31, 2025, bringing a wealth of free activities to visitors. From ice skating and snowshoeing to snow sculptures and festive events, Winterfest will be a perfect way to get into the holiday spirit while enjoying the snow-capped beauty of the Teton Mountains. The celebrations will continue on December 19 with the special anniversary event, which promises live music, a festive atmosphere, and stunning Christmas lights illuminating Teton Village—a pedestrian-friendly area filled with restaurants, shops, hotels, and attractions.

One of the most anticipated events of the season will take place in February, with the renowned “Kings and Queens of Corbet” competition. This iconic event brings together the world’s best skiers and snowboarders to tackle the infamous “Corbet Couloir,” a steep, challenging slope that is considered one of North America’s ultimate challenges. The athletes’ fearless performances and impressive stunts make for an action-packed spectacle that draws crowds from around the globe. The event is a testament to the high level of skill and bravery displayed by these elite athletes, vying for the prestigious titles of King and Queen of Corbet.

As the season comes to a close, the excitement will not let up. The town of Jackson will host the highly anticipated “Festival Rendezvous” on April 10-11, 2026. This lively celebration will fill Jackson’s town square with live music, while saloon-style bars evoke the charm of the Old West. The event offers the perfect way to cap off the ski season, with a fun-filled atmosphere and a taste of Jackson Hole’s historic character.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s 60th season promises to be one of the most memorable yet, with a dynamic mix of skiing, events, and celebrations. Whether you’re a beginner hitting the slopes for the first time, a seasoned skier seeking a challenge, or a visitor looking to enjoy the festive atmosphere, Jackson Hole is the place to be this winter. With its world-class terrain, exciting events, and the unmatched beauty of the Teton Mountains, this season is set to deliver unparalleled experiences for skiers and snow enthusiasts alike.

” More snow is expected, and we are eager to welcome our visitors from around the world this season, which promises celebrations for everyone ,” says Doug Pierini, CEO of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is celebrating its 60th ski season with an incredible start, featuring a forecasted 1.65 meters of snow at the summit. This season promises unrivaled skiing experiences for all levels, from thrilling expert runs to scenic beginner slopes. With fresh snowfall and expansive terrain, Jackson Hole is set to deliver the ultimate winter adventure for every skier.

To maintain an exclusive and enjoyable experience, the resort will continue to limit the daily number of skiers on the mountain due to high demand. This approach ensures shorter wait times for ski lifts, greater space for guests, and more availability at the mountain’s dining establishments. It is highly recommended to purchase day passes ahead of time, and those holding an Ikon Pass or Mountain Collective pass should make reservations in advance.
