Japan is preparing to more than double the number of people that it will let enter the country. It might dismiss the requirement for a negative Covid-19 test for entering the country, since the last rich economy with strict entry protocols is still looking forward to join the rest of the world regarding dismissing or relaxing the pandemic restraints.

The daily cap on tourists will be increased to 50,000 as early as next month from the current 20,000. Authorities in Japan are also thinking about a steady enabling of testing requirements like at first relieving fully vaccinated people.

Travelers at the moment need to submit negative results of a PCR test that has been taken 72 hours before leaving for Japan.

Prior to the pandemic, Japan, known for its lively cities and exceptional culture was at the heart of a tourism boom, with inbound visitors setting a record in 2019. Airlines, hotels and retailers are once again looking forward to recover the business that they have lost. The meager number of foreigners permitted to enter Japan last year spent 120 billion yen.

In 2019, they spent 4.8 trillion yen, which is forty times more, as per the Japan Tourism Agency.

Airline shares went up in Tokyo, with Japan Airlines Co. going up as much as 3.5%.Individually, Japan is thinking to restrict the comprehensive reporting that medical facilities need to provide on corona cases to high-risk individuals.
