An action plan has been launched to address the Jersey‘s tourism industry.
The Visitor Economy Strategy for Jersey sets out objectives for ensuring the success of the visitor and hospitality sectors.
The government and industry members developed the plan.
Officials said the vision was for Jersey to be a globally popular, sustainable and enriching destination that islanders are proud to share.
The strategy focuses on 48 policy priorities ranging from the growth of the island’s air links to investment in accommodation.
The minister for sustainable economic development, Deputy Kirsten Morel, said that they all have a part to play in the future of the industry.
That is an important message for all islanders that are part of the visitor economy and can contribute to its future.
Visitors spent 2.7 million nights in the island in 2019, spending almost £300m. Figures from the tourism body, Visit Jersey, said this.
