Jetstar has officially announced that its new flights connecting Adelaide and Whitsunday Coast Airport will commence operations on September 1, 2024. Passengers can now avail themselves of one-way sale fares starting from $99 on jetstar.com.
With three weekly flights scheduled for Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, this initiative will generate over 58,000 low-cost seats annually, significantly enhancing tourism in both regions.
In celebration of this upcoming service, Jetstar will kick off a 12-hour sale starting at 11:00 am AEDT on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, offering one-way fares between Adelaide and the Whitsundays starting at just $99.
Jenn Armor, Jetstar’s Executive Manager of Customer Relations, highlighted that the Adelaide to Whitsundays route will mark the low-cost carrier’s 99th domestic route in Australia.
“We’re incredibly excited to launch these new direct flights between Adelaide and Whitsundays, allowing our customers to take off more with sale fares available today from just $99 one way.
“For the first time ever from 1 September 2024, flying between these two destinations will take just under three hours, continuing Jetstar’s mission to make travel more accessible with great low fares.”
Whitsunday Coast Airport boss, Craig Turner, said today marks an exciting milestone for Whitsunday Coast Airport with direct flights from Adelaide to our stunning region now on sale.
“This new route not only strengthens connections between South Australia and the Whitsundays, but also opens up endless possibilities for travellers seeking adventure, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences.
“South Australians can tick off bucket list items like snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef or visiting the worlds famous Whitehaven Beach while Whitsunday locals can visit SA and sample some of the world’s best wines or explore unique wildlife sanctuary Kangaroo Island.”
Brenton Cox, Managing Director of Adelaide Airport, expressed confidence that the launch fares would capture the attention of holidaymakers.
“South Australians should jump on board these launch fares to experience the wonder of the Whitsundays and more Queenslanders can now access the wildlife, outback and wineries on Adelaide’s doorstep,”
