AI-powered conversations are rapidly emerging as the first point of contact for travellers seeking inspiration, planning trips, and completing bookings. In the hospitality sector, this shift is redefining how demand is created and captured, with guest journeys increasingly beginning inside conversational AI environments. For hotels, this new behaviour demands strong visibility, seamless conversion capability, and precise control over pricing and distribution—without increasing operational burden or system complexity.

Within this evolving landscape, Amadeus is positioning itself as a key architect of the AI-enabled travel ecosystem. The company is accelerating the transition toward AI-driven commerce and intelligent distribution through a neutral, embedded approach designed to support hoteliers across multiple digital touchpoints. Its focus is to help hospitality businesses connect with emerging AI channels while maintaining an integrated, outcome-focused operational structure.

Building a unified model for agentic commerce across travel channels

Amadeus is advancing a strategic framework for agentic commerce in hospitality, designed to link AI assistant platforms with hotel-owned digital channels into a single, connected ecosystem. This approach enables hotels to attract demand from conversational AI interfaces while also strengthening engagement across direct booking platforms. The objective is to ensure discoverability, personalisation, and conversion efficiency, while preserving full control over merchandising strategies, pricing architecture, and transactional processes.

In parallel, Amadeus is collaborating with Google and other industry participants as a foundational partner in developing the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) for lodging. This initiative aims to establish a standardised framework for AI-driven commerce, enabling consistent communication between AI systems and hospitality providers. By supporting this interoperability effort, Amadeus is helping define how future travel transactions will be structured within AI-native environments.

Alongside protocol development, the company is introducing an AI commerce solution designed to integrate hotels directly into AI-powered travel marketplaces. This capability is intended to strengthen brand visibility, enhance loyalty engagement, differentiate offerings in competitive markets, and streamline payment workflows. At its core, the solution supports embedded, end-to-end booking journeys that operate within conversational interfaces, allowing travellers to complete reservations without leaving the AI interaction environment.

Expanding advanced retailing capabilities and distribution intelligence

The AI commerce framework leverages Amadeus’ established technology ecosystem, including the Amadeus Central Reservation System (ACRS), Amadeus iHotelier®, and global distribution infrastructure. These systems collectively enable scalable, enterprise-grade connectivity across both direct and indirect sales channels. The architecture is designed to support accuracy, resilience, and performance consistency, even as AI-driven distribution models continue to evolve.

Beyond room bookings, Amadeus is extending the commercial scope of hotel retailing. The company is enabling properties to offer a broader spectrum of travel-related services, including destination experiences and curated activities. Future development pathways also include integration of group bookings, meetings, and events through platforms such as Amadeus Delphi® and Amadeus MeetingBroker®, alongside ancillary services like transport coordination and travel protection products. This expansion reflects a shift toward holistic travel retailing rather than isolated accommodation sales.

As AI search becomes a critical discovery layer, Amadeus is also introducing Performance Manager – AI Search. This solution is designed to optimise hotel content for visibility within generative AI results, laying the foundation for Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) strategies in hospitality. Early deployment data indicates strong engagement quality, with nearly half of AI-driven users progressing to booking environments, significantly outperforming traditional organic traffic conversion levels.

To further improve conversion efficiency, Amadeus is embedding an AI Booking Assistant within its Website Solutions and iHotelier Booking Engine. This tool introduces conversational interactions directly into booking workflows, enabling guests to refine searches, compare options, and complete reservations more efficiently. The feature is positioned to enter broader availability toward the end of the year, supporting hotels in reducing friction across the booking funnel.

Embedding intelligence across hospitality operations with Amadeus Max

A central component of Amadeus’ strategy is the rollout of Amadeus Max, an AI-enabled intelligence layer designed to unify workflows across its hospitality portfolio. This system introduces natural language interaction capabilities, allowing hotel teams to engage with complex data and operational tools through conversational inputs. It is structured to deliver contextual insights and, where permitted, execute automated actions across integrated systems.

Amadeus Max for Advisor is already operational, enabling hospitality professionals to access demand intelligence and performance insights using natural language queries. It draws on datasets from platforms such as Amadeus Demand360®, Agency360®, and RevenueStrategy360®, consolidating intelligence into actionable outputs. The solution is also being integrated into collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and expanded to mobile environments, ensuring accessibility across operational settings.

In the digital marketing domain, Amadeus Max is integrated with the Amadeus Travel Advertising Platform™ to enhance campaign optimisation. By combining predictive analytics with real-time travel demand signals, it enables more precise allocation of advertising spend across channels, improving return on investment while maintaining strategic oversight.

Further integration of Amadeus Max extends into sales and events management workflows. Within Amadeus Delphi®, the system introduces automated assistance that can interpret client requests and support end-to-end sales processes. In Amadeus MeetingBroker®, it enhances group and event request handling by evaluating incoming RFPs, scoring opportunities based on conversion probability, generating structured proposals, and verifying real-time availability. This reduces manual workload while improving responsiveness and decision accuracy.

Through this multi-layered AI strategy, Amadeus is reshaping hospitality operations into an interconnected, intelligence-driven ecosystem where discovery, booking, and revenue management are increasingly unified under a single adaptive framework.

“AI is reshaping how travelers discover, shop, book, and experience hotels across every channel, from AI assistants and search platforms to hotel-owned touchpoints. At Amadeus, we act as a system of record and the embedded execution layer for the industry, helping orchestrate AI in an integrated and scalable way across the travel ecosystem. For hoteliers, we focus on helping them stay visible, competitive, and in control. Our technology simplifies operations for hotel professionals through intelligent, performance-driven tools that help teams work faster, make better decisions, and deliver more personalized guest experiences,” says Francisco Pérez-Lozao Rüter, President, Hospitality, Amadeus.
