Karnataka Tourism unveils a cultural odyssey at IITM Hyderabad 2023

Karnataka Tourism cast a spell on visitors at IITM Hyderabad with a captivating presentation of its abundant cultural heritage, splendid temples, mouthwatering cuisine, and awe-inspiring wildlife. Taking place from December 1st to 3rd, 2023, at stand number P7 in People’s Plaza, the event spotlighted the multifaceted beauty of Karnataka—a state celebrated for its lively traditions, architectural wonders, and delightful culinary offerings.

Attendees were transported into Karnataka’s enchanting realm through a visual journey showcasing the architectural treasures of ancient temples, intricate carvings, and monumental landmarks like the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Hampi, Pattadakal, and Hoysala temples in Belur, Halebidu, and Somanathapur. The display also featured majestic forts such as Bidar Fort and Bellary Fort, serene hill stations like Coorg, Chikmagalur, Sakaleshpura, and Kodachadri, vibrant festivals including Ugadi, Dasara, and Makar Sankranti, and a culinary exploration of Karnataka’s mouthwatering dishes like Bisi Bele Bath, Dosa, and Mysore Park. Interactive sessions and engaging exhibits immersed visitors in Karnataka’s historical wonders, scenic landscapes, and rich cultural heritage.

For those yearning to connect with the wonders of the natural world, the event showcased Karnataka’s diverse wildlife, featuring captivating images and videos of regal tigers, graceful elephants, and the vibrant birdlife that inhabits the state’s lush forests.

Karnataka Tourism was represented by Mr. Janardhan H P, Joint Director of Karnataka Tourism, alongside various tourism service providers, including The Aurum Hotels & Resorts; Tripbanao; Five Sanctuaries Safari LLP; Hotel Malligi Private Limited; Mysore International Travel Pvt. Ltd; Intersight Tours & Travels (P) Ltd; The Yellow Bamboo Resort (Green Fields); Niraa Wellness; Hotel VBR Grand INN; BookForUs; Turquoise Holidays; SBIT Travels Pvt. Ltd. The presence of the Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation Ltd, and Jungle Lodges & Resorts Limited emphasized the comprehensive tourism experiences available in the state.

Distinguished personalities who visited the Karnataka Stand included Ms. Rakhee Kankaria, Chairperson, Tourism Committee, FKTCCI; Mr. Krupakar Ravipati, India Tourism; Ms. Sujana Kumar, TOAT; Mr. Pawan Jain, Rajasthan Tourism; Ms. Madhumati Rathod, Maharashtra Tourism; Mr. Valmiki Kishan, SKAL; Mr. Monik Dharamshi, SKAL; and Mr. Rajesh Philip, ANTO.

In collaboration with key stakeholders, Karnataka Tourism engaged in B2B interactions with a diverse audience of travel enthusiasts, industry professionals, and potential collaborators from Hyderabad. These discussions explored the nuances of ecotourism, heritage tourism, adventure tourism, and wildlife tourism, fostering invaluable collaboration and knowledge exchange, thereby laying a robust foundation for future partnerships in the travel and tourism industry.
