Amidst freezing Kashmir Valley, a winter wonderland beckons! Meteorological forecasts snow, as Kashmir tourism thrives in the magical embrace.

The Kashmir Valley, shrouded in freezing conditions, emerged as a captivating winter haven as the meteorological department predicted snow and rain across most places in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. Amidst the icy temperatures, the allure of Kashmir’s tourism sector stood resilient. A meteorological official disclosed that Srinagar, with its low of minus 1.7°C, experienced a drop from the previous night’s minus 0.3°C, underscoring the enchanting appeal of the summer capital of J&K, even amidst winter’s chill.

Qazigund, the gateway to Kashmir, witnessed a minimum temperature of minus 5.4°C, rising from the previous night’s minus 9.4°C, inviting visitors to experience the crisp and invigorating beauty of the region. Pahalgam, the renowned resort in south Kashmir, recorded a low of minus 8.3°C, presenting a winter landscape that was 2.2°C below the norm, yet alluring to those seeking the magic of snow-covered vistas.

In the captivating south Kashmir, Kokernag reported a minimum temperature of minus 5.4°C, gently embracing a 0.1°C deviation from the normal, making it an ideal destination for winter enthusiasts. Kupwara, in the north, painted a serene picture with a low of minus 2.4°C, just 0.1°C below the usual, beckoning visitors to explore its natural beauty.

Gulmarg, the globally renowned skiing resort in north Kashmir, recorded a low of minus 10.6°C, a testament to its snow-covered slopes and a magnetic pull for adventure seekers. Amidst this winter wonderland, the tourism sector of Kashmir, with its rich cultural heritage and mesmerizing landscapes, played a pivotal role in attracting visitors from around the world.

Jammu, the winter capital, experienced a minimum temperature of 5.7°C, offering a milder climate and a distinctive charm to those exploring the city. As the region embraced the icy embrace of winter, Banihal, Batote, and Bhaderwah each contributed to the diverse tapestry of Jammu and Kashmir’s landscape with their unique temperatures.

Looking ahead, the meteorological official not only presented a weather forecast but also painted a vivid canvas for tourists. The period from February 3-4 promised generally cloudy weather with the possibility of light to moderate snow and rain, creating a postcard-worthy setting for visitors. February 5 hinted at partly to generally cloudy weather with light snow over isolated higher reaches, providing an enchanting atmosphere.

From February 6-13, the region was expected to bask in generally dry weather, inviting tourists to explore the captivating beauty of Jammu and Kashmir in its winter tranquility.
