Kate Sherry appointed new Aviation Director at Edinburgh Airport

Kate Sherry has been appointed as the new Aviation Director at Edinburgh Airport. Sherry comes with years of experience and previously served as the Director of Route Development at Ryanair. In her new role, she will oversee the airport’s recovery from the impact of the current pandemic, taking over the vital role of managing airline relationships and ensuring that Scotland’s largest airport retains and grows its connectivity in the coming years.


Upon joining, Kate will report to Chief Executive Gordon Dewar. Dewar said in a statement that having someone of Kate’s caliber joining the team at a critical time is fantastic news for the airport and the city. He mentioned that the best set of people is required to make sure that the impacts of COVID-19 on the airline partners at Edinburgh Airport are minimised and so that a rapid recovery happens the opportunity arises. He shared that Kate is hugely skilled and experienced and offers an airline’s perspective, which will be incredibly valuable as the airport work with carriers to rebuild and recover.


Speaking on her appointment Sherry mentioned that Edinburgh Airport’s success story in the past decade has been well recognised across the industry. She said that as the aviation industry faces challenging times, she is looking forward to join the great team to assist in continuing the success and ensuring that the airport and Scotland are as well connected as they can be in the recovery.
