Kerala tourism plans to enable heli taxi facilities

The Kerala tourism department envisions a plan to enable helicopter or better known as heli taxi facilities with the aim of linking the main tourism centers. The draft procedures for this helicopter tourism have been organized. In the first phase, heli tourism that links air ports and air strips would be visualized.

Additional air strips would be permitted after considering the possibility of the mission. In the
meantime, few agencies have approached the state government, and have shown their curiosity toward heli tourism. The strategies have been shaped centered on this.

At present, an air strip exists at Peermade in Idukki region. Growth of new air strips are being thought of at Bakel and Wayanad. The experts are thinking to request reasonable tenders and allot an agency with
the accountability of managing the venture.
