King Khalid Airport starts direct flights to Beijing from today
Image generated with AiThe Riyadh Airports Company (RAC), which manages and operates King Khalid International Airport, has recently announced the launch of a new direct air route to Beijing. This new connection between Riyadh and the Chinese capital is facilitated by Air China, which will operate three flights each week starting today.
This development is part of RAC’s ongoing efforts to improve direct air links between Saudi Arabia and China. The introduction of this route is seen as a strategic move to attract more Chinese tourists to Saudi Arabia, providing them with easier access to explore the Kingdom’s numerous tourist attractions and investment opportunities. RAC is focused on enhancing the travel experience for Chinese visitors, which aligns with their commitment to Saudi Vision 2030’s broader goals.
The collaboration with Air China follows a series of achievements by RAC, including the attainment of the “Welcome Chinese” certification for King Khalid International Airport in the previous July. This certification is considered a significant factor in bolstering the cooperation between RAC and Air China, potentially increasing the success of this new air route.
Additionally, the new flight service is aligned with the objectives of the National Civil Aviation Strategy, which includes expanding air connectivity to over 250 destinations and enhancing the operational capabilities of 29 airports across the Kingdom. This strategy also aims to foster a competitive environment in the aviation industry by promoting fair pricing and establishing comprehensive regulatory frameworks for both international and domestic operations. The direct flights not only promise to boost tourism but also support infrastructure development and operational improvements at King Khalid International Airport, enhancing its position on the global stage as a key travel hub.
