This year, Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s new national airline, added flights from Riyadh to London. Recently, the airline added Manchester to its list of direct routes from Saudi Arabia. Passengers can now fly non-stop from Riyadh to both London and Manchester.

The new connection strengthens air links between Saudi Arabia and Northern England while creating additional travel opportunities for leisure travellers, business passengers and visitors seeking onward connections through Riyadh. The launch also supports Saudi Arabia’s wider aviation and tourism ambitions under Vision 2030, with international connectivity playing a key role in attracting more visitors and expanding the Kingdom’s global presence.

The first flight, operated as RX0417, departed from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh at 1:30 AM local time and arrived at Manchester Airport at 6:40 AM. The return service, RX0418, departed Manchester at 8:40 AM and reached Riyadh at 5:20 PM on the same day.

The new non-stop route will operate three times a week, with flights scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The service provides travellers from Northern England with direct access to Saudi Arabia’s capital city while also offering convenient onward connections to destinations across Riyadh Air’s growing international network.

Through Riyadh, passengers will be able to continue their journeys to major destinations, including Jeddah and several important markets across Asia such as Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Manila.

Manchester Route Strengthens Riyadh Air’s Growing International Network

The launch of the Manchester service represents a significant step in Riyadh Air’s expansion strategy as the airline continues building a global network from Saudi Arabia. Manchester has been selected as a key destination due to its importance as a major centre for business, education, culture and international sport.

Located in Northern England, Manchester serves as an important gateway for millions of travellers across the region. Manchester Airport provides access not only to the city itself but also to surrounding destinations, including Liverpool, Leeds and Sheffield.

The airport also connects travellers with some of the United Kingdom’s most recognised natural attractions, including the Yorkshire Moors, the Peak District and the Lake District. Visitors can also use Manchester as a starting point for journeys towards North Wales and Scotland.

By adding Manchester to its UK network, Riyadh Air is creating greater flexibility for travellers between Saudi Arabia and Britain. The route complements the airline’s existing London operations and provides passengers with more options when planning journeys between the two countries.

The expansion reflects the increasing importance of strong international aviation links in supporting tourism, trade and cultural exchange. Improved connectivity between Saudi Arabia and the UK is expected to benefit travellers while strengthening links between two important markets.

Supporting Saudi Arabia’s Tourism and Aviation Growth Plans

The Manchester service has been developed in collaboration with Saudi Arabia’s Air Connectivity Program, which supports the Kingdom’s National Tourism and Aviation Strategies.

The programme works to improve global air access to Saudi Arabia by encouraging new international routes and strengthening connections between the Kingdom and major markets worldwide.

The expansion of Riyadh Air’s UK network aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals, which aim to increase international tourism, diversify the economy and position the country as a leading global travel destination.

The airline’s growing international network is designed to support increased visitor arrivals while improving access for travellers from key markets. With London and Manchester now connected directly to Riyadh, passengers from different regions of the UK have more opportunities to explore Saudi Arabia’s cultural attractions, business opportunities and tourism experiences.

The new route also supports stronger economic connections between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom by improving access for corporate travellers, investors and international visitors.

Sfeer Loyalty Programme Creates Global Traveller Community

Alongside its route expansion, Riyadh Air continues to develop its loyalty programme, Sfeer, which is designed to reward frequent travellers and build a global community of passengers.

The name Sfeer combines the Arabic meaning associated with an ambassador and the English concept of a sphere, representing a connection between Saudi Arabia’s hospitality values and an international traveller community.

Members of the programme can access a range of benefits, including a Best Offer Guarantee, points that do not expire, complimentary onboard Wi-Fi access and additional travel advantages.

By linking Riyadh with Northern England, the airline is opening new travel possibilities for passengers while strengthening economic and tourism ties between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.
