Celebrating Music Across Kyushu

Lit Festival: A Beacon of Hip-Hop and Dance

Scheduled for April 13–14 in Fukuoka city, the Lit festival marks its third year with a celebration dedicated to the latest in hip-hop and dance music. Organized by a party collective sharing the festival’s name, its goal is to showcase the forefront of dance music with a special focus on hip-hop. The event spans two days, featuring live performances at UnitedLab, culminating in an all-night extravaganza at the Magic Square Building. Artists nationwide will converge, including notable performances by Kzm and local talent like Banny Bugs.

Sky Jamboree: Rock Amidst Scenic Beauty

Set against the backdrop of Nagasaki’s Inasayama mountains on August 25, Sky Jamboree offers an immersive rock experience. It invites attendees to enjoy music with a mission of “one pray in Nagasaki,” aiming to blend the collective joy of music with aspirations for global peace. Previous editions have seen performances by Vaundy and 10-feet, enhancing the natural beauty of the location with vibrant rock sounds.

Sunset Live: Beach Vibes and Musical Diversity

On September 7–8, the shores of Itoshima Bay in Fukuoka will host the 30-year tradition of Sunset Live. Known for its eclectic lineup, ranging from hip-hop to folk, this beachside festival is a testament to the enduring appeal of diverse musical genres. Given its popularity, prospective attendees are advised to secure their tickets well in advance.

The Great Satsumanian Hestival: Kagoshima’s Musical Celebration

The Great Satsumanian Hestival, slated for October 26–27 in Sakurajima, Kagoshima, is a festival that celebrates the essence of Kagoshima through music. Its name, a play on the local dialect for volcanic ash (“he”), symbolizes the festival’s deep connection to its roots. Attracting both local and international acts, including return performances by Wednesday Campanella and Soil & “Pimp” Sessions, it draws large crowds to the seaside city.

These festivals not only highlight the rich musical diversity of Kyushu but also underscore the region’s role in promoting global travel and cultural exchange through music. Each event, with its distinctive flavor and setting, contributes to Kyushu’s reputation as a must-visit destination for music lovers worldwide.
