Dr. Thereza Mugobi, the acting director of tourism with the tourism and natural resources ministry has
criticized the lack of hotel beds with Tanzania gearing up to witness five million travelers in the course of next two years.

Concerning current tourism inclination, Dr. Mugobi said that Tanzania requires more hotel beds as it prepares for the arrival of visitors.

As said by Dr. Mugabi, the tourism segment is developing swiftly, causing overfilling of swanky hotels.
She said that low bed possession is indeed a deterrent and is enough to keep out tourists from getting into destination Tanzania.

Dr. Mugabi added that that shortage of rooms poses a challenge for the investors to build more hotels in
zones with high inflow of tourists.

Dr. Mugabi claimed that the $2 billion every year sector is growing swiftly, with top seasons, causing
overbooking of glitzy hotels.

Apart from little bed occupancy, Dr. Mugabi also pointed out a number of threats ruining the tourism
segment.

Among them are low tax base of tourism stuffs, facility of excellent service, rigid opposition from global
markets and a massive reliance on global markets in obtaining tourists.

Dr. Mugabi said further that notwithstanding the recurrent challenges, the tourism division is moving
toward a clear course.
