LATAM Group Reveals February 2024 Operating Statistics: Passenger Numbers Surge by 20.6%

LATAM Group has disclosed its operational performance for February 2024, highlighting a robust increase in passenger figures. Over the span of January and February 2024, the airline transported over 13.5 million passengers, marking a notable 20.6% surge compared to the corresponding period in 2023.

During February alone, LATAM Group carried 6.4 million passengers, reflecting a substantial 23.1% rise compared to February 2023. The report further delineates that the group witnessed a remarkable uptick of 33.5% in international passengers, while domestic passengers from affiliates in Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru surged by 30.8%. Additionally, passengers from the Brazilian affiliate increased by 12.4%.

The consolidated capacity, measured in available seat-kilometers (ASK), expanded by 21.3% in February 2024 compared to the same period the previous year. This expansion was attributed to a surge in domestic capacity across affiliates in Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador by 27.3%, an international segment growth of 27.0%, and a 10.0% increase in the domestic capacity of the Brazilian affiliate.

In terms of passenger traffic, measured in revenue-passenger kilometers (RPK), LATAM Group recorded a significant 24.9% increase compared to February 2023. This rise was propelled by a surge of 32.7% in international demand and a robust 27.7% increase in demand from domestic markets in Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador, along with an 11.6% increase in domestic demand from the Brazilian affiliate.

The group reported a consolidated passenger load factor of 84.4% for February 2024, marking a 2.5 percentage point increase from the same period in 2023. Notably, the international load factor surged by 3.7 percentage points, reaching 88.0%.

Finally, cargo capacity, measured in available tons-kilometers (ATK), soared to 617 million in February, indicating a 15.5% increase compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.
