Discover the exceptional culinary artistry of Chef Nilza Wangmo at the “Leh Ladakh Food Trails” pop-up event, held over five days at Stix, the celebrated restaurant within Hyatt Regency Chennai. Following her acclaimed food festivals nationwide, Chef Nilza brings her unmatched skill in Ladakhi cuisine to Chennai. Collaborating with Chef Manish Uniyal, Hyatt Regency Chennai’s Executive Chef, they have thoughtfully designed an original and genuine menu from March 6th to March 10th, 2024, to feature the essence and cultural richness of Ladakhi food through an engaging live cooking display.

Chef Nilza and Stix’s skilled kitchen team will introduce guests to the heritage of Ladakhi cuisine, employing age-old recipes, natural ingredients, and eco-friendly cooking methods. Chef Nilza shares, “These are the dishes I prepare for my family and close ones, using ingredients in harmony with nature and sustainable practices. It’s an honor to bring the diverse culinary traditions of Ladakh to Chennai’s vibrant gastronomic landscape.” Chef Manish Uniyal adds, “Our goal is to offer unique dining experiences periodically through our festivals and pop-ups, crafting genuine menus that honor various global cultures. It reflects our dedication to creating new culinary experiences for our patrons.”

This unique pop-up is brought to Chennai by Yogita Uchil, a renowned food advocate and entrepreneur, in her first collaboration with Hyatt Regency Chennai. Chef Nilza Wangmo, awarded the Nari Shakti Puraskar by the President of India in 2019 and owner of the all-women Alchi Kitchen in Ladakh, has made significant strides in popularizing traditional Ladakhi cuisine. Since opening in 2016 near a historic monastery, Alchi Kitchen and its branch in Leh have become beloved spots for authentic Ladakhi fare.

The menu at this pop-up will feature Ladakhi delicacies such as Mok Mok, Stuffed Kambhir, Chutagi, Ladakhi Butter Tea, and more, offering a taste of the Himalayas’ culinary treasures.
