Local Explorers Partners with New Hampshire Winery Association to Launch Wine Trail App
Local Explorers, a leading developer of customized mobile loyalty apps for the tourism and hospitality industries, has launched the New Hampshire Wine Trail app in partnership with the New Hampshire Winery Association (NHWA). This app serves as a digital upgrade to New Hampshire Winery Association’s popular paper-based Wine Passport, providing users with detailed information about participating wineries, their offerings, and allowing users to map out their own wine tours.
Enhancing the Wine Trail Experience
The New Hampshire Wine Trail app aims to modernize the traditional passport program and expand the association’s online reach. With the app, wine enthusiasts can access real-time updates on special deals, tasting room hours, and other relevant information that isn’t available on the New Hampshire Winery Association’s website. Mark LaClair of New Hampshire Winery Association emphasized the app’s ability to provide time-sensitive information: “Each member winery can update its own information, such as tasting room hours or deals they have for today or this weekend.”
Proven Success and Customer Service
LaClair highlighted Local Explorers’ proven track record with similar projects, such as the Connecticut Wine App. “We were looking around at different apps and tried the Connecticut Wine App, another Local Explorers product, which launched recently,” he said. “So, I reached out to them. We’re happy with Local Explorers’ process; it’s worked well for us.” He also praised their attention to customer service: “Everyone has been terrific and very responsive, and clearly they know what they’re doing, and we can appreciate that.”
Promoting New Hampshire’s Winery Culture

To support the app’s promotion, New Hampshire Winery Association applied for and won a Champions of New Hampshire Farms, Agricultural Natural Resources Promotion Grant from the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture. This grant will fund the launch campaign, including posters and postcards with app information and download links displayed in tasting rooms.
LaClair expressed excitement about sharing New Hampshire’s unique wine culture with a broader audience: “New Hampshire is the Live Free State, and we really embody that. We make our wines freely the way that we want them to be made. They really span the whole gamut from high-end, very classy tasting rooms to farm garage-style wineries.”
Empowering Local Businesses
Susan Erickson, co-founder of Local Explorers, commented on the app’s potential: “New Hampshire’s winery industry may be small, but it’s vibrant and well worth celebrating. We were honored that they entrusted us to build their app, and we’re excited to help them leverage its full potential to bring more visitors into New Hampshire’s tasting rooms.”
Local Explorers apps, developed by Daruma Tech, are designed to help communities connect with visitors and local consumers. Each app is custom branded and supported through ongoing, proactive development, training, maintenance, and updates.
