In his role as COO, Flannery will spearhead the development and execution of strategies aimed at boosting operational efficiency, enhancing guest experiences, and fostering overall business expansion. His approach emphasizes delivering exceptional service, maximizing profitability across business units, and ensuring seamless alignment and execution of organizational goals.

Recognized as one of the industry’s most accomplished hotel executives, Flannery brings a wealth of expertise in operations, training, brand development, food and beverage concepts, financial management, and team building to Loews Hotels & Co.

Most recently, he served as CEO of Cape Resorts. Before that, Flannery co-founded and launched the prestigious EDITION luxury lifestyle brand alongside the renowned hotelier Ian Schrager. During his tenure at EDITION, he spearheaded the opening and management of the brand’s inaugural 15 hotels worldwide, spanning across the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Iceland, China, Japan, and the Middle East.

Flannery’s illustrious career also includes significant roles as Regional and General Manager within The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, overseeing its Northeast U.S. properties, including the esteemed Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park.

Throughout his journey in the hospitality industry, Flannery has been honored with numerous accolades, including being named “Hospitality Professional of the Year” by the Food and Beverage Association of New York City and “Operations Executive of the Year” by the Hotel Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI). In 2008, Luxury Travel Advisor Magazine recognized him as the “Top General Manager in the World.” He is highly regarded for his mentorship of aspiring hospitality professionals, nurturing some of the industry’s most esteemed leaders.

Flannery earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland and is deeply involved in academia. Currently, he sits on The Industry Advisory Board for Pennsylvania State University School of Hospitality Management. His past engagements include serving on the Advisory Board Executive Committee for New York University’s Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management, as well as on the Dean’s Advisory Council for the Robert H. Smith Business School at the University of Maryland.
