MAAS Aviation, a globally recognized specialist in aircraft painting and exterior coatings, takes immense pride in completing the top-secret repainting project for Embraer’s latest E195-E2 ‘Tech Eagle.’ Executed at MAAS’ flagship facility in Maastricht, The Netherlands, the project involved a dedicated team of 38 skilled painters working tirelessly in round-the-clock shifts for 15 days. The unveiling of the distinctive livery took place at the Dubai Airshow 2023.

The project’s success is a testament to the seamless collaboration between the expert teams at Embraer, MAAS, and AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings. Upon completion, Richard Marston, MAAS Aviation CCO, expressed his gratitude, stating, “I want to thank everyone involved in this project for their exceptional performance. The final result speaks volumes, and you should all take pride in it. I also extend my appreciation to our partners at Embraer for entrusting us to deliver this spectacular and iconic design.”

The Tech Eagle joins Embraer’s lineup of predator-themed liveries, succeeding the renowned shark, lion, and snow leopard designs. Darragh Hall, Jnr, Graphics Manager at MAAS, shared, “Being part of this exciting yet challenging project was a great opportunity. The collaborative ‘solutions, not problems’ attitude of the Embraer team made the experience enjoyable. Coupled with the expertise of our in-house painting team, we successfully delivered another fantastic livery.”

MAAS Production Coordinators reflected on the intricacies of working on the E2 Profit Hunter Tech Eagle. Andrzej Calus emphasized the meticulous planning required for the detailed and complex paint job, while Adam Buczek highlighted the challenges of translating a flat livery design onto a curved aircraft surface. Despite the difficulties, the team’s attention to detail resulted in a stunning final outcome.

Embraer expressed satisfaction with the project’s outcome, with Guy Douglas, Director of Corporate Communications at Embraer Commercial Aviation, commending the impressive artwork originating from The Netherlands. André Machado, Global Creative Director at Embraer Commercial Aviation, added, “It’s amazing! We are very happy with the results and the process.”

The E2 Tech Eagle livery, the most intricate among AkzoNobel’s six collaborations with MAAS and Embraer, required over 14 different colors of its Aerodur 3001 Basecoat/Clearcoat system. Xavier Rijmenans, Sales Director Aerospace EMEA at AkzoNobel, described the project as a thrilling collaborative effort that showcased the talents of the entire team.
