MakeMyTrip and Singapore Tourism Board team up to create exciting new travel opportunities, opening fresh routes for Indian tourists to explore.

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and MakeMyTrip, a leading Indian online travel company, have entered into a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote Singapore as a premier travel destination for Indian tourists. This marks the inaugural collaboration between the two entities.

As part of the MOU, STB and MakeMyTrip will initiate various joint marketing efforts aimed at increasing travel to Singapore in 2024. Additionally, STB plans to leverage MakeMyTrip’s expertise and insights into the Indian market to design specialized travel packages tailored for Indian tourists.

India ranks among the top five source markets for Singapore’s tourism sector, with the city-state hosting over one million visitors from India in 2023. Indians benefit from excellent air connectivity to Singapore, with 17 Indian cities offering direct flights. The diverse array of attractions and experiences in Singapore caters to a broad spectrum of Indian tourists.

Melissa Ow, Chief Executive of the Singapore Tourism Board, expressed her enthusiasm about the new venture with MakeMyTrip, noting it as the board’s first MOU with an online travel platform in India. She highlighted the partnership’s goal to strengthen Singapore’s brand connection with Indian consumers and to enhance the city’s attractiveness for various Indian visitor segments.

Rajesh Magow, Co-Founder and Group CEO of MakeMyTrip, commented on the rising popularity of Singapore as a destination among Indian travelers, evidenced by its status as one of the top three most-searched international destinations on their platform in the previous year. Magow emphasized the ongoing developments in Singapore’s tourism offerings, convenient travel options, and amenities designed with Indian preferences in mind, all of which enhance Singapore’s potential to attract more Indian tourists. He expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with STB to effectively showcase Singapore’s charm to Indian travelers.
