Manchester Airport’s rapid expansion fuels a hospitality boom with a massive 276-room Premier Inn, set to redefine convenience near Terminal Two.
Manchester Airport is set to enhance its hospitality landscape with the addition of a new 276-room Premier Inn, marking the chain’s third hotel in the area. Approved by Manchester Council, the project will be developed by Airport City Partnership Ltd, a subsidiary of Manchester Airport Group (MAG).
Strategically located just an eight-minute walk from Terminal Two, the nine-storey hotel will offer travelers a closer and more convenient accommodation option compared to existing Premier Inn properties, which are currently over 40 minutes away from the terminals. The new facility is set to provide comfortable and affordable stays, catering to both business and leisure travelers.
The new Premier Inn will be part of Airport City Manchester, an expanding business and hospitality hub adjacent to the airport. It will neighbor the recently opened Tribe hotel and the under-construction Dakota hotel, further strengthening Manchester Airport’s position as a key gateway for international and domestic travelers.
According to the official planning application, the Premier Inn hotel aims to complement the Airport City master plan, supporting the growing demand for airport accommodations. The Manchester Council approved the project on February 26, 2025, reinforcing the airport’s vision of offering world-class facilities for travelers and business professionals alike.
One notable aspect of the approved project is that the new Premier Inn will not have dedicated on-site parking. Instead, guests will be directed to use the airport’s general parking facilities, ensuring efficient space utilization and seamless connectivity within the Airport City district.

Despite the lack of dedicated hotel parking, the hotel’s proximity to Terminal Two makes it a prime choice for passengers with early morning or late-night flights. It will offer easy pedestrian access, reducing reliance on shuttle services and taxis for short-stay guests.
The new Premier Inn hotel is expected to bring several benefits for travelers, including:
Manchester Airport has been actively expanding its accommodation options, catering to the rising influx of passengers, business travelers, and airline crews. With the recent launch of Tribe hotel and the upcoming Dakota hotel, the area is rapidly transforming into a premier travel destination.
The Premier Inn brand continues to strengthen its presence in Manchester, with the new nine-storey property poised to attract a high volume of guests. As air travel demand grows, airport hotels play a vital role in ensuring smooth and stress-free journeys for travelers.
With planning approval granted, construction on the new Premier Inn is expected to begin soon, with an estimated completion date to be announced by Manchester Airport Group. Once operational, it will serve as a strategic addition to Airport City, further solidifying Manchester Airport’s reputation as a top-tier international gateway.
