Marriott and Delonix forge strategic partnership in china

Marriott International and Delonix Group, a prominent hospitality company based in China, have jointly announced a comprehensive and long-term cooperation agreement. The collaboration aims to foster the expansion of Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio brand within mainland China. Presently, the Delonix portfolio boasts ten hotel brands, featuring over 1,400 hotels either open or in the developmental pipeline. The expectation is that a minimum of 100 properties will integrate into the Tribute Portfolio in the coming years.

In this strategic partnership, Marriott International will extend its Tribute Portfolio brand through franchising, aligning with selected Grand New Century and other premium brand hotels managed by Delonix Group. These hotels are anticipated to be accessible for booking through both companies’ direct channels and will participate in their respective loyalty programs.

Alex Zheng, Executive Chairman of Delonix Group, expressed confidence in the premium hotel market in China, highlighting the collaboration’s commitment to providing added value to hotel owners and enhanced travel experiences for Chinese travelers. The agreement is seen as an unprecedented opportunity to drive the long-term growth of Delonix premium brands and Tribute Portfolio in China.

Yibing Mao, President of Greater China at Marriott International, emphasized the excitement surrounding the collaboration, citing Delonix Group’s expertise in developing and operating hotel assets in the local market. The partnership is expected to leverage the strength of the Tribute Portfolio brand, Marriott’s loyalty program, and distribution systems to enhance guest experiences and fuel robust growth across China.

Gavin Yu, Chief Development Officer of Greater China at Marriott International, highlighted the opportunity to cater to sophisticated Chinese travelers seeking authentic destination experiences by introducing collection brands like Tribute Portfolio.

Delonix Group’s extensive hotel portfolio includes 10 core brands with over 1,400 hotels in operation or in development, along with involvement in restaurants and entertainment. Grand New Century, established in 2005, is the group’s premium hotel brand with a portfolio of 180 properties and over 50,000 rooms in China.

Tribute Portfolio, a global family of over 100 independent hotels across nearly 30 countries and territories, is characterized by unique design and a commitment to creating vibrant social experiences for guests and locals alike.
