Marriott, Morogoro Mishama to debut Le Méridien in Zanzibar

Marriott International has announced its partnership with Morogoro Mishama Company to launch Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts in Zanzibar by 2025. This move aims to meet the increasing demand for high-end lodging in Tanzania. The upcoming Le Méridien Zanzibar Resort will boast 75 luxurious guestrooms, offering guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the local culture, geography, and culinary delights. The resort is expected to feature modern rooms and villas with unobstructed views of the Indian Ocean, embodying Le Méridien’s ethos of offering stylish, cultural experiences. Amenities will include a unique restaurant, an alfresco bar, and extensive recreational options like a gym, pool, spa, children’s club, and a lagoon. Located in Bwejuu on Zanzibar’s Eastern coast, the resort will encapsulate Le Méridien’s philosophy of ‘Savouring the Good Life’, with all aspects reflecting the brand’s European origins. Morogoro Mishama Company, under Delaware Investment Limited, is known for developing luxury hotels in Africa and will work with Marriott International and ALEPH Hospitality, which will manage the franchise, to bring this vision to life.
